Haven't you seen the Przemyśl film "Block the Bridge"? Today you have a chance

On April 8, Kino Centrum was filled to the brim with viewers eager to see the work of the creators of the thoroughly Przemyśl film "Zablokować most" directed by Robert Młynarski. The success of the premiere, which we took patronage over, meant that subsequent screenings were announced already then. Those who missed the April screenings, as well as yesterday's (6th this month), still have a chance to see the film today, May 7, at 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
"Block the Bridge" is undoubtedly an important film, in which both the city of Przemyśl played a role (the film crew shot scenes in various locations, including the former city hospital on Słowackiego Street, the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites, and even the private apartments of the citizens of Przemyśl), and its residents (including members of local reconstruction associations, who were supported by visiting groups).
It was based on a story from July 1942, “unearthed” in the archives by history enthusiast Marek Niedźwiecki (in the film he played the head of the Przemyśl Gestapo, Adolf Benthin). It concerns the Przemyśl ghetto and the action of saving from death about 200 to 500 (according to various estimates) Jews by two Wehrmacht officers living in Przemyśl at the time – Lieutenant Albert Battel (played by Mirosław Majkowski) and Major Max Liedtke (played by Janusz Łukasiewicz), the commandant of the Przemyśl garrison of the Wehrmacht. Both decided to oppose the SS soldiers and the Gestapo and take up arms against them, which caused an internal conflict in the German army. Albert Battel and Max Liedtke had to wait a long time for the world to learn about their heroic deed. Over 30 years after Battel's death, the Yad Vashem Institute awarded him the title of Righteous Among the Nations.
The attendance of viewers at both the April premiere and yesterday's screenings can be envied by the creators of the fictional documentary even by the chain cinemas. Today's is an opportunity for those who have not seen the film yet. Ticket price - PLN 15. On behalf of the organizers, we invite you.
